Brown Sugar Toffee Hot Cocoa

RECIPE

This thick and creamy Brown Sugar Toffee Hot Cocoa is the perfect warm and chocolaty drink to sip on cold winter days. All you need is 15 minutes and 6 ingredients to make the best cup of cocoa ever!

 
 

Ready in 15 minutes | Serves 2 people


Ingredients

  • 3 cups unsweetened plant milk of choice

  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar

  • 3 Tbsp cocoa powder

  • 1 1/2 tbsp vegan butter

  • 1/8 tsp sea salt, optional

  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch, optional

Preparation

Add vegan butter and brown sugar. Heat over medium heat until vegan butter melted and sugar is bubbling. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for about five minutes, stirring constantly. Add 1/4 cup of plant milk and cocoa powder and mix until smooth. Add remaining plenty milk gradually, stirring constantly until evenly mixed. Increase heat to medium-high and bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 5-7 minutes. Serve right away with vegan marshmallows, vegan whipped cream, or vegan ice cream.
