Welcome to the Dairy-Free Future Campaign!
The goal of the Dairy-Free Future Campaign is to provide information about the dangers of consuming dairy products and to give people the support and encourage they need as they eliminate dairy products from their diets. With online resources like videos, articles, cooking demos, meal plans, online events and more, Dairy-Free Future is making it fun and easy to go dairy-free!
be wary of dairy
Did you know that more than 70% of African-Americans are lactose intolerant? That means that our bodies are incapable of digesting the lactose found in dairy products. Symptoms of lactose intolerance can include:

-
Diarrhea
-
Flatulence
-
Abdominal pain
-
Indigestion
-
Abdominal bloating
-
Abdominal distension
-
Nausea
-
Constipation

By eliminating dairy from our diets, we can avoid these symptoms. And by choosing dairy-free options like plant-based milk, coconut yogurt, cashew based macaroni and cheese and banana ice cream, we can look forward to a future free of the discomforts and risks that dairy often causes within our community.
no dairy,
no problem!
Finding dairy-free products is becoming easier and easier as more people are choosing to dump dairy. You can now find dairy-free milks, yogurts, cheeses, ice creams, whipped cream, and even coffee creamer at your local grocery store! There are also lots of recipes online to make your own dairy alternatives at home.
done with dairy
Believe it or not, the images of smiling cows prancing on sunny farms is nothing more than a marketing ploy to keep you from the truth: that the dairy industry is an inherently cruel industry, exploiting workers and forcing cows to needlessly suffer for milk and other dairy products. Cows are constantly artificially inseminated year after year. They are robbed of the opportunity to bond with their calves, who are taken away from them just hours after birth, just so that humans can consume the mother cow's milk.
Cows can suffer for years on dairy farms, experiencing painfully swollen udders from constant milking (mastitis), mistreatment and abuse, and a complete disregard for their well-being. And did you know that humans are the only species on earth that choose to drink the milk of another species? No wonder so many people, especially people of color experience health issue! With the availability of plant-based alternatives, we can not only live healthier lives for us and our families, but we can work towards living a better life for the cows and their calves whose suffering is hidden behind false labels.
